The red spider mite is a very small parasite, reddish or yellowish in color, and highly mobile. In case of heavy infestations, it forms webs. It lives on the underside of leaves and on shoots, sucks sap, and causes serious water imbalance: the leaves take on a characteristic color with metallic reflections, known as bronzing, and then dry out.
