zeolite is a powder of sedimentary rocks. Sprinkled on the plants, it forms a coating of sharp crystalline particles which causes trouble to chewing insects, especially olive fly and fruit fly, hindering the oviposition. Thanks to its capability to retain a lot of water, the coating also hinders the development of fly larvae and acts directly against some fungal diseases, dehydrating spores and mycelia. It can also be used as grafting or cicatrizant paste and to protect plants from sudden changes in temperature. Applied on the soil, it levels the water gradient avoiding water stagnation and releasing water and nutrients according to the plant need; it lessens possible excess salinity in the soil, reduces the temperature range and the assimilation of noxious and radioactive substances from the crops. It can be used in horticulture and gardening at any stage of the production cycle. It leaves no residues. For edible crops, it is advisable to allow at least 48 hours after treatment before eating the crop.
